Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 22, 2026
TechTrapture AI Innovation Lab ("TAIL", "we", "us") is operated by TechTrapture. This policy explains what data we collect through the platform, why, and how it's handled. It applies to students, faculty, mentors, and college administrators using TAIL.
1. What we collect
- Account data: name, email address, and authentication identifiers, via Firebase Authentication (email/password or Google sign-in).
- Profile data: college, department, batch, skills, and any links you choose to add (e.g. GitHub, LinkedIn).
- Platform activity: projects, teams, mentor bookings, event registrations, cloud resource requests, and notifications — the content you create using TAIL.
- Contact form submissions: name, email, college, and message, if you contact us directly.
- Session data: a session cookie used to keep you signed in.
2. How we use it
We use your data to operate the platform: authenticate you, run the features you use (teams, mentorship, cloud requests, events), notify you of activity relevant to you, and — with your college's admin — provide aggregate reporting on innovation activity at your institution. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Who can see your data
Data is scoped to your college by default. Faculty and Institute Admins at your college can see student projects and activity within their institution. TechTrapture platform admins can access data across colleges for support and operations. We do not share your data with other colleges or with third parties for marketing.
4. Third-party services
TAIL is built on: Firebase Authentication and Google Cloud (Google LLC) for sign-in and infrastructure, MongoDB for data storage, and Microsoft 365 for transactional email. Each of these processes data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
5. Data retention
We retain your account and activity data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after in case you return. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. For users in India, this is consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our contact page.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
8. Contact
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent through our contact page.
